I need to reset my service inspection light so was thinking about getting VCDS with a lead as I intend keeping the car long term and think it might be a good investment. What’s the best/cheapest way into checking and resetting fault codes?

Also, changed the oil yesterday and the digital oil level is showing midway between min and max. Can anyone tell me how much oil is there between the two?

    Thanks

If you use Android you can get OBDEleven, they haven't developed it for Apple as yet.
I think there is 1litre between min and max on the V6 engines

I've got Carista which seems to work well.

I use OBD Eleven, compared to other programming and diagnostic software its extremely easy to use.
I've used VCDS on my Audi's, Peugeot Planet and DiagBox with other cars I've had

Service light can be reset in the MMI don’t need any other diag software.
Vcds is expensive but I think it’s worth it as the support is really good. Been using the old hex can cable for like 10 years.
Obd11 is your cheap and cheerful and can do coding like vcds. I would avoid some of the apps as I’ve seen some cause problems.
