    Hi There,
I have a 2010 VW Caravelle that has covered 60K and the DSG has dropped to limp home mode after being stuck in slow traffic. No warning light and can't select reverse, runs in 1st or 3rd. I have the following fault codes but can't find and details on the web.

    Engine
    Part #: 03L906022JD
    Coding: 0125401A232400080000 (hex)
    Component: R4 2,0L EDC
    Fault codes:
    04807 Manufacturer-specific code
    09120 Manufacturer-specific code

    Transmission
    Part #: 0BT300045F
    Coding: 0014 (hex)
    Component: DSG DQ500-7F
    Fault codes:
    13072 Manufacturer-specific code
    10720 Manufacturer-specific code
    10660 Manufacturer-specific code

Dropped it to a local garage and they state it needs a gearbox rebuild which is certainly a worry. Can anyone enlighten me to what the above codes are?

    Thanks

Clear the codes, take it for a drive and see what codes return.
Its better to scan with VCDS rather than a generic fault reader.

Did a fair bit of Googling and also checked Ross-tech and none of the above codes are there. Stumped so was wondering if there was anyone on forum who knew what they are. Unfortunately not on UK mainland so not easy to get checked.

Try to get a scan done with VCDS and then check codes on the wiki.

I think a proper code read will indicate Mechatronic unit failure, I have had this with quite a few DQ350 and the closely related DQ500 as well as the DQ250 used in lighter models, the box itself is strong (never seen a failure) the clutch set OK (done a few) but the Mechatronic is prone to failure, the clue is the drive coming back after the codes are cleared but some don’t even do that, I had a DQ200 lose drive with no codes.

Yes, mechatronic unit failure was prognosis, any recommendations on reputable place to use, are they repairable or is it better to buy new?
