Nine new Vorsprung and Black edition models upgrade the UK Audi range

Top rank sporting and luxury specification options broaden the appeal of more models across the Audi range in the UK

• Black Edition specification now also available for Q2, A5 Coupe and Sportback and Q5 models
• Most comprehensive and luxurious Vorsprung specification also now offered for A5 Sportback, Coupe and Cabriolet models, for the Q5 and for the A7 Sportback.
• Black Edition models build on S line sports specification with larger wheels, matt or gloss black detailing and privacy glass
• Vorsprung models further expand on the Black Edition package, adding numerous technology upgrades and luxury indulgences

Audi customers with a preference for performance, and also those who lean more towards luxury and the last word in technology, are even better catered for from this month as the choice of Black Edition and Vorsprung versions across the Audi range expands.

The Black Edition option that builds on the visual appeal of the S line sports specification is now additionally available for Q2, A5 Coupé and Sportback and Q5 models. At the same time, the new Vorsprung equipment package already offering the ultimate in luxury and technology in Q7 and Q8 models can now be specified for the A5 Coupé, Sportback and Cabriolet, the Q5 and the A7 Sportback.

In the Q2 and Q5 models and the Coupe and Sportback versions of the A5, Black Edition specification brings larger 19-inch or 20-inch (depending on model) alloy wheels in gloss black, a black styling pack adding a Matt Titanium Black or Gloss Titanium Black finish to components such as the Single Frame grille surround, air inlets, rear diffuser and door mirror housings, plus darkened rear privacy glass. Inside, decorative inlays receive the same darkening treatment and the addition of a flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel emphasises the more sporting slant.

For the ultimate specification not only from a comfort perspective but also in terms of technological sophistication, prospective A5 and Q5 customers can now also look to new Vorsprung versions of these immensely popular Coupe, Sportback, Cabriolet and mid-size SUV models. Expanding significantly on the Black Edition specification in each case, they take on board an exceptional selection of equipment that starts externally with an upgrade to 20-inch, 21-inch or 22-inch alloy wheels in either matt grey or matt titanium (depending on model), and to advanced Matrix LED headlights which can divert their beams around oncoming and leading traffic.

Bristling with technology

Adaptive comfort suspension with damper control is added to optimise ride and handling in A5, A7 Sportback and Q5 Vorsprung models, while the Q7 Vorsprung and Q8 Vorsprung adopt adaptive air suspension from the S line models on which they are based. In all cases, virtually all of the latest assistance systems from the Audi technology portfolio are also incorporated to de-stress the driver even further. These include everything from Park Assist with its fully ‘hands-free’ parallel and perpendicular parking capability to side assist, active lane assist, turn assist and cross traffic assist rear, adding a further layer of protection and control during everything from lane-change manoeuvres to reversing out of poorly sighted parking spaces.

While the various assistance systems stand by to take the strain out of the less pleasurable aspects of day-to-day driving, additional features such as a panoramic glass sunroof, BOSE or Bang & Olufsen audio (depending on model) and sensor-controlled boot opening enabling access using a simple kicking motion under the rear bumper also play their part in upgrading the day-to-day driving experience. Depending on the model chosen, Vorsprung specification can also bring luxury detail enhancements such as an extended leather pack, Alcantara headlining, power door closure and rear seat heating.

The new Black Edition models form part of a fast-growing and increasingly popular Black Edition line-up that already takes in all the A3 and S3 variants, the A4 Saloon and Avant and the TT and TTS Coupe and Roadster models. Above them, the five new Vorsprung models join the Q7 Vorsprung and Q8 Vorsprung, building a new tier that makes indulgence in exceptional technology and enhanced comfort as easy as possible for Audi customers. Prices for the Black Edition range currently start at £26,845 OTR for the A3
Sportback 30 TFSI Black Edition, rising to £67,295 OTR for the Q7 50 TDI quattro Black Edition. The Vorsprung range starts with the A5 Sportback 35 TFSI Vorsprung priced at £48,875, and runs through to the Q8 50 TDI quattro Vorsprung priced at £83,040 OTR.
