I have a problem with the TIPTRONIC auto gearbox or clutch at low speed and when pulling away (snatchy / jumpy). I can live with it and putting up with it is better than walking.

I can see from the internet and another post on here that I am not the only one?

Is there any point in changing the gearbox fluid? Does it help?

I can only assume, from what I've read that AUDI must be aware of this, seemingly, common problem but there is nothing that can be done besides replacing the gearbox?

This is my first AUDI for 30 years and its a high mileage unit so it's not worth a gearbox change.

Has anybody found a simple or cheap fix?

Oh well, I guess I'd better have a go at the Lottery again.

I tried new dual mass flywheel before bowing to the enevitable gearbox rebuild (as the electronic board had already been refurbished). Cost approx £2.8k. A waste of money I know but I love the car and it drives like new. I couldn't buy a car as good for £3K so I am happy with the situation.

This car was on sale for £1000 before it was gifted to me (last one written off in an accident) and had attracted no offers.

It is a lovely car and obviously very well built but it is just at an age where its bits are starting to fail. The engine feels good enough to make it around to 200k.
