    Hello All,
I have an A4 B6 Avant 1.9 TDI SE Manual 5 Speed 130 PS, and it has recently developed a serious problem. Returning from a local drive on Saturday, it started missing and eventually 'shuddering' and I have an amber ESP light on. Just about made it home.
I had a quick look online simply inputting the symptoms and 'Injector wiring loom' made a couple of appearances, but I suppose it could be anything... I have recently relocated to Swansea and my trusted mechanic is 60 Miles away. I tried Audi and they'd like to book it but can't do for another fortnight... the devil and the deep blue sea springs to mind...
I would appreciate any help! Does it specifically need to be VAG/COM diagnosed? Does it specifically need an Audi specialist?
Any advice would be mucho appreciated...

Your right about most things here it could be anything and it should be scanned for codes to allow some standard diagnostics. shuddering sounds like its off an injector or its not getting the correct air fuel mix somehow. try disconnecting you airflow meter and your egr vacuum hose (top hose) if this makes no difference i'd be tempted to pull the injectors and clean them in an ultrasonic bath, at the same time change the loom and look at the seals and plungers. Its generally recommended to change all the seals when an injector is removed. I have seen something similar when the plungers on the top of the injector had cracked so one cylinder was getting little to no fuel.

Thanks for that Jim... The car had a diagnostic today and cylinder 1 is suspect... Fella doing the test has pretty much echoed what you're driving at; I suppose the loom would be a good starting point unless there's obvious / visible damage to the injector... I'll try and pass on the advice about the seals; that's much appreciated. Thanks again
