From what I can gather the BMM/BMP 2.0 TDI engines did not have injector issues, whereas the BKP notoriously does.

Is there an easy way to tell the difference? As my B6 is a 2007 model it could have either according to Wikipedia.

    Thank you in advance!

In the boot under the carpet / spare wheel hatch should be a white sticker with codes on it. It tells you all you need to know including engine and gearbox code.

If it has a hand written code on it of 23H9 then the injector recall was done. This may be written in the service booklet if you have it.

The BMM was never used in the 3C and the BMP only used from 05/07 to 11/08 on cars with a DPF.

So it'll definitely have the BKP then... Better call the local VW dealer on my next holiday to see if it has had the unofficial recall or if I'll have to get that done out of my own pocket! If I do then I'll get them done same time as the timing belt, but I'd rather not have to!!

The Siemens injector recall on the BKP and BMN was a “Campain” by VW and not an official recall and has LONG expired.
