I have an issue with my 1.8TFSI Cabriolet which interestingly I couldn't find posted anywhere on the forum - the heater sometimes runs hot irrespective of what temperature the displays are set to. Lots of posts with heaters only blowing cold air but not the other way round! Even on 16degC the vents blow hot air and the only way to stop it is to turn the A/C on. It doesn't always do it and when I've read the fault codes so far nothing is showing a stuck flap or valve or anything...

Anyone seen this before who can point me to what it is?

    Thanks!

I had the same problem on my A4 B5, decided the flap for hot air, V68, must have been sticking occasionally.

I performed the basic settings while watching the flap motor and lever, and eventually saw it stick slightly open.

I managed to get the motor out with the heater assembly in place with only a few cuts and gashes on my hands.

I dismantled and reassembled the motor, but couldn't see anything wrong with it and it worked OK whilst hanging on the wires.

I put it back in, but it stuck again, so I replaced it with a new motor, found on Ebay, and it now works fine.

It was a bit expensive, £120, but it's so hard to get the motor in and out I didn't risk fitting a used one.
