Has anybody updated their MMI, via SD card?
Did you go through Audi or DIY?

Have a look at satnavupgrade.com to see if they have upgrades for your system. I have used them and so has my son. Neither of us had any problems installing and the only comment I would add is the Audi upgrade does take a long time, 4 hrs 35 mins in my case, but from a very original 2011 setting. For this length of time I can understand why an Audi dealer upgrade is often quoted as around £400.

    John.

Just copied this from their website, hope it helps.

“You can check your current firmware and database version by going into Setup -> Settings -> Version Information. This will update your navigation database and system firmware to the following versions:

    Media Version: HN+_EU_AU3G_K0942_3 / HN+R_EU_AU_K0942_4
Nav. database version: 8R0060884GA ECE 6.28.2
MMI 3G+, 3GP HDD navigation systems can be identified by checking the MMI Media version, you can do this by going into Setup -> Settings -> Version information. Compatible media versions always begin with HN+, please see an example below:

    HN+_EU_AU3G_XXXXX_X / HN+R_EU_AU_XXXXX_X
If you are unsure which navigation system your car is fitted with, please contact us.

MMI 3G+, 3GP HDD systems are usually fitted in the following models:

    Audi A1/S1 (2011 - 2018)
    Audi A4/S4/RS4 (2008 - 2016)
    Audi A5/S5/RS5 (2008 - 2017)
    Audi A6/S6/RS6 (2009 - 2015)
    Audi A7/S7/RS7 (2011 - 2014)
    Audi A8/S8 (2008 - 2017)
    Audi Q3/RSQ3 (2012 - 2018)
    Audi Q5/SQ5 (2009 - 2017)
    Audi Q7 (2010 - 2015)”

I’ve emailed them to check which version I have installed.
They’ve requested a photo of my Firmware version.
    Which I’ve just sent

    Just had a reply....

“It looks like your car is equipped with an RMC navigation system.

Unfortunately we can’t cover the RMC navigation system at this time, dealer would be your best bet but the update is approx £500. It also needs to be activated through the dealership.

    Hope this helps”

I don’t think I’ll be updating it for that kind of money tbh

I also have RMC and decided to retrofit CarPlay instead. Now I use Waze and don’t care about Audi maps.
