    Hi all

Just want to know if there is anything to look out for when buying a second A6 Avant 2013-2015 Ultra S Line.

    Thanks

Get a V6 instead, BiTdi if you can push the boat out.

I would try and go as late as possible, as the car had a facelift in 2015. For the stronic boxes make sure the it's been serviced every 40K miles.

You won’t get an Ultra registered before the very end of 2014 as they were only introduced in q4 2014 just prior to the facelift. If you go for an auto then pre-ultra cars have the less favoured multitronic gearbox. Ultra cars have the s-tronic box. When buying either make sure it has had the transmission fluid changed every 38k miles. As already mentioned worth going for a 2015 facelift car as it is better speced even more so if you get one with the tech pack

    I have a 2014 3.0tdi V6. Lovely and smooth.
Neighbour fancied an A6 so came to talk to me and ask my thoughts. He bought a 2017 2.0tdi Ultra.
    Nice car.

But when he drives his you can tell straight away it's a diesel. With the 3.0V6 it's just a million times smoother and quieter.

Get the Tech pack with the Jukebox and full colour DIS.

Mine is also remapped to around 295bhp and 600Nm. The mid range pulling power is unreal. Overtaking on the motorway has never been easier.....regardless of what speed you're doing!

There has been some speculation on this forum that the A6 was really intended to have a V6 - it's a heavy car. The 2.0Tdi's get along OK but the general feeling is that unless you drive like a nun the fuel consumption is WAY off the quoted figures. We all know that the old fuel consumption numbers were suspect but the folks with V6 engines seem to get a lot closer to the quoted figures than some 2.0Tdi owners do. I'd say go find a V6 with the exception of the pre-FL 204bhp front wheel drive unit - that was multitronic and really that V6 unit deserves quattro (if you could find one of the allroads with that engine then you'd have quattro and s-Tronic).
A6 allroad BiTdi (MY14, July 2013 - DAB & power tailgate). Glacier white, tech pack (HDD Nav, colour DIS, Parking Plus), sports seats, 4 zone climate, heated seats front and rear, ambient lighting, 75L fuel tank, adaptive Bi Xenon headlights
