Adaptive Light Error Started

Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can help shed some light on an error that popped up a couple of days ago. The error came up on a long journey after I went over a bumpy road. Went away when I restarted the car.

Looking at VCDS (genuine version) this is the info before I cleared the codes:

A few weeks ago a parking bulb in one headlight failed, this was changed by a specialist. Could it be something simple like a loose wire that was disturbed on the bumpy road, or the sign of something more serious and expensive. New headlights are not cheap so I'm hoping it's something simple.

The initial error mentions the control module part number: 4F0 910 357 C, I will do some research on this, where it's fitted and how much a new one is, can see 2nd hand ones on ebay for £50.

Also found out there is an associated level sensor that connects to the front NS suspension. As this moves and presumably wears, this could possibly cause the error. Will keep searching!!

Hi,

I have resolved the issue, basically I needed to recalibrate the adaptive lights. Took only a few minutes, followed stage 2 of the guide below:

DIY: How to Properly Re-Calibrate and Adjust Adaptive Bi-Xenon Headlights

All credit to AlphaVR for this, really good guide and easy to follow, would have never worked this out without it.

Just in case someone else has the problem.
