    Hi guys,

As the title says, the auto levelling mechanism has packed in and now the headlights are pointing low on the road. I have been searching the net for solutions but unable to find anything and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice?

**Edit - I believe the part I need is an "automatic headlamp levelling sensor" but I have read there are two, is that correct? If so where are they and how I can isolate which one needs replaced?

    Thanks

You can’t do it like that, even if a height sensor (usually the operating link) has failed, the replacement has to be set using a diagnostic system so first of all the system needs a code read to see what is wrong.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I had it on the mechanic's diagnostic machine and no codes were showing, that was the first thing I tried. I will have him try again on Monday and see if anything shows up now.

It may not show as a code, he has to look at the live data info to se if it tallies.

Great thanks I'll say to him. I've used his diagnostic machine myself before (he's a mate) it's a Snap-On I believe.

    Hi mate,

Checked the computer today and everything seemed fine both live data and codes.

Put car up on the ramp and it seems that the 09 A4 B8 only has one headlight sensor on the rear passenger side of the car and it's broken. Trying to find a replacement on ebay but they all to be a front passenger one which my car doesn't have. Would you or anyone have the part number or know an easy way I could find it?

    Thanks again.

It is only available new as a complete unit under part number 8K0 941 309 F which is £132.28 in the UK so probably around 150 Euro.

Thanks for that mate. Yeah it seems to be a dealer only part in the UK with a few sellers on eBay from China which I'm not confident in taking the gamble with. Appreciate your help.
