Hi I am experiencing high fuel consumption in my MK5 BXE Golf so I took some logs to see if anyone could spot anything unusual? It is fully serviced with no faults.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

No long enough and some groups needed not shown. Log just the engine temperature over a long drive in different situations but particularly on a long motorway cruise, doing this you will notice the dash temp gauge talks ********.

Hi thanks for your reply, those logs were taken after a 20 minute drive to warm the car up I couldn't seem to get it up to 90c and it took a long time to get to 79-80. I suspect a faulty cts or the thermostat is stuck open. I believe the thermostat should open at 88ish. Yes you are right the gauge is almost to keep people happy...it was sitting 90c!
Do you think the slightly lower maf readings are anything to worry about?

Thermostat first, yes I think the temp gauge function is to stop people obsessing over the readings. To be honest I hate gauges, people get me to fit oil and other gauges to cars that were otherwise fine and suddenly the owner starts panicking about the readings.

A lot of the machines I work on have lights and alarms...no gauge no problem! Great ill get the thermostat fitted over the next couple of days I also pass a dealer everyday so I will probably stop off and get a coolant temp sensor too just to have it done.
What groups do you recommend logging? WOT in 3rd right?

For now, concentrate on getting it hot, cold engines burn more fuel.

Hi so I changed the thermostat but I have not yet looked to see how its warming up because I have another issue. While I was at it I decided to pull the rocker cover and inspect the cam, it needs to be replaced there is up to 2mm worn off some of the lobes. I am in the process of ordering everything up but I am unsure whether or not to do the injector seals while I am at it. The car has 88k miles on it and vcds show the injectors are working fine with number 1 being out the most at +0.80. Do you think I should do them or leave them be? I don't really want the expense of replacing the 2 rocker shafts if I do the injectors too.
Any advise would be great thanks.

+.80 is a lot no matter the +/-2.88 quoted, if yo do not change the rocker arms, subsequent failure of the cam injector lobes will be refused under warranty
