I collected my new Q7 earlier this week, its my first Audi and my first Diesel engine. I went to put some fuel in the car a couple of days ago and I had issues getting the fuel nozzle into the filler. I managed to get a few pounds worth in extremely slowly as it appeared the inner flap wouldn't open. I then tried again today and had the same problem, eventually managing to get the nozzle into the filler and so filled up.
Is there a 'knack' to getting the inner flap of the filler to open or am I doing something totally stupid?
Ive been driving for 40+ years and this is the first such issue I have ever had with refuelling

You have to shove the nozzle hard into the filler. I had the same experiance two years ago on test drive. On my car just put force into it and works every time.

Thank you very much for that info as it is very helpful. I have a long journey tomorrow and I will need more than one tank of fuel so your reply has just relieved me of a load of stress.

I found that also. Being a little gentle when you’re filling up your new car, just doesn’t really work here.
This is what I was doing too, and also struggled a bit. (Note to self-stop being a big girl and shove it in a bit harder)
Guessing I’ll also get the knack-I’m only on about my 10th refuel !

Yup thanks to the reply from anemeth above I now have no issues refuelling As you say I now just forcefully whack it in. All I need now is some illicit method of stopping those figures on the fuel pump from spinning round and Im sorted lol
