Whats the normal running temp for my 1.9 TDI PD 2004? I used to have a Golf 1.9 TDI for 4 years and it had a quick warm up to 90 degrees and just stayed there without moving no matter how you drove it.
My Touran takes longer to get to temperature and varies from 65 - 90 and does move during driving.
I am prepared to fit a thermostat as the first course of action but would like to know how other Tourans run.

    Many Thanks...

I had a touran quite a few years ago & once up to temperature it stayed at 90 all the time.

I've had a few cars with this engine & all were the same.

So I would get that stat changed ASAP in this weather.

With VAG water temp gauges from around 1997, ignore what the temp gauge says, if you look at the measuring blocks adat with diagnostics equipment you can see the gauge says 90 when it is really 77 and still says 90 at 107! If the gauge does not go up to 90 and stay there no matter what, something is wrong such as a faulty sensor or stuck open thermostat.
