A block of four LEDs in one of my rear lights has stopped working.

Is it possible to repair, or am I going to have to replace the complete rear light?

You would be better to replace the light

Second that difficult repair - new rear light unit is around £35 outer and £43 inner.

Have a look on eBay, around £10 for a used one plus post.

Thanks for the replies, confirms my thoughts that a repair would be difficult. It's the outer one (rear light, stop and turn), and the cheapest I have seen new on eBay is £60. Was worried that 'used' might have some leds out, same as mine.

It recently passed its French MoT, possibly because the four that don't work are near the bottom, so a quick glance would probably miss them which, provided it doesn't get any worse, also means it's ok for the next two years. Nevertheless I'd still like to put it right.

Mitch - have you a link to the prices you quote before I go down Philip's route?

Auto Doc - Large parts retailer in Germany. I use the app as it gives the biggest discounts (they cycle daily from 10 to 24% discount). Google them - also known by a few other names on the Web like buycarparts or onlinecarparts or something like that (same company covering the widest audience possible). I wait to order a few things because free delivery is on higher orders only normally. I also use Mister Auto who are owned by PSA and based in France.

    Hope this helps.

Mitch, thanks for that - I automatically go straight to eBay, forgetting that there are dedicated suppliers. I think I actually used Mister Auto years ago for some parts for our old Laguna.
