    Wet Carpet Driver’s Side

2007 Passat saloon 140TDi, the carpet is very wet under my feet and it not obvious where its coming in. I have put a hosepipe on the driver’s door and no leaks showing on the door card, plus the carpet and insulation is dry against the sill.

So.... where else could it be coming in? I cleaned the drains each side where the windscreen wiper motor sits, there were plenty of leaves but couldn’t really tell if it was blocked before as I was just squeezing my hand under the cover.

Any suggestions? Is the drain for the aircon on the driver’s side?

    Thanks

    Steve

Coolant level dropping? If you have what appears to be the original header tank and it appears to be at the max level, double check by looking inside as many get stained on the inside giving the impression of it being at the correct level. If coolant is dropping could be the heater matrix otherwise I would suspect the bulkhead drain tube(s) are blocked.

Thanks Mitch, no problems with the coolant and it would smell of anti-freeze anyway. The bulkhead drains are clear, at least now, will have to pull the carpet up I guess and see if there is anything obvious.....
