Millions of cars would fail MOT test changes in 2019 will YOURS?
A major shake-up to the rules could see any car with an outstanding recall fail the test, these faults can be both minor or major and can range from issues with the seatbelt not working to potential problems with the brakes or engine. So will anyone that has not had the VW diesel fix fail instantly fail under this new legislation of changes?

No. Because it's not a recall.

Understand what you guys are saying and totaly agree but i think our goverments along with big corporations pulling there strings are above what is right and will deem it to still be a recall even though it is not
compulsory. I hope it never gets to this but have a bad feeling it will as it is still on the list of recalls.

Easy to have it removed though, even though it will cost. Normally I would back an environmental campaign, on diesel especially, BUT experience has taught me it ruins the car. No other recalls I know of ruin a car and if a recall has expired, which they do, it can't be enforced. I am more interested in getting cars with HID lights off the road, these menaces are still out there, quite often Golf 5's.

Yes that is why we have rules and punishment, the only problem is we have no police on the streets to enforce it and many MOT testers are either complicit or too dumb to notice.
