Gear recognition sensor isn't anything to do with gear box then?. It's manual by the way. Can the abs sensors be tested in away, through vcds?.
I'll mention the abs sensors to the garage I brought it from when it goes in, which isn't until the 29th.

Yes, you can test abs sensor using vcds. You need connect and go to abs section where it shows the speed of the wheel. Go for quick run. All speeds should be the same. One which shows different is the guilty one!

I don’t remember exact option of my head. There is a YouTube video I used. Have a look online .

I'll see if I can get my mate to come for a drive with the laptop connected.
Also the fault code are stored in the engine module not in the abs module if that makes a difference.

My mate couldn't make it today. To test the abs sensors.
Whilst we were out today. The fault appeared again (See attached picture).
We also noticed that a couple of time m&s it showed 4th gear in the dis but we were in 3rd. When accelerating in 2nd the gear change indicator doesn't show 2nd to 3rd untill around 3500rpm. If you accelerate slowly it's comes up and out 2500. In all other gears it shows to change as soon as your get to about 2000. I'm sure my A5 show the gear change indicator at the same revs regardless of how fast you accelerate.

Cars now back at audi. Apparently it's not the first time this car has had this issue.

New one would be nice.. ha ha.
I think I'd they can't resolve it, it will be going back to where we brought it from. As it had the fault when we brought it, even though we were assured it was just a low battery.

Hope that if you reject it and get your money back you will still go for another A6, have a look at what the Audi dealer you are having it looked at, has in stock. At least it will be approved and any issue would be resolved.
