    Morning all,

I have a problem with 3 of my door handles on my A4 B5 (8D) 1.9TDI avant. They open but will only go back to the closed position with force applied to the handle. I have stripped the door and removed the handle but I cannot see how to free up or fix the handle, I have attached photos of one of them. Any help would be grand

    Thank you in advance.

    G

Do you mean that they stick in the open position even when removed from the door?

If so, I suggest a suitable lubricant, such as silicone grease, applied to the moving surfaces which are in contact.

Thank you for your post. The door handles work and they can be opened and closed but when you open the door the door handle sticks in the open position and only goes to the closed position with force applied to the handle to push is back to the closed position instead of the door handle springing back.

I have lubed up the pins in the handle but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?

Surely, if they stick in the open position when off the doors, you can work out what is jamming them?

If you mean that they stick when mounted on the doors, you need to lubricate the mechanisms in the doors, which probably involves removing the door cards.

Thank you for your response - as you can see from the pictures attached I have removed the offending item and was after further help. No problem I will just knock the pins out and see if that helps....

Yes, I can, and did see your pictures.

BUT, after you posted the pictures, you stated "when you open the door the door handle sticks in the open position"

Which suggested that you had put the handles back on the doors.

Good luck with solving your problems.
