There is no start up, but no the other lights go out, those listed above remain on. Will investigate starter signal and ignition switch next.

Just to keep the thread up to date with progress.

I have changed the ignition switch. Boy what a job that was.

I have tested the resistance from the pos terminal on the solenoid to the positive battery terminal (with battery disconnected). This is very low, around 0.5 ohms. So a sound enough connection I think.
Similarly the earth path reads 0.5 ohms.

Finally I tested the solenoid signal wire for a voltage when the key is in the ignition and turned to position 2. This reads around 11.5v, while the battery with no load reads 12.5v.

I am wondering if the starter signal wire is making a sound connection to the solenoid pin. Or indeed if the new starter motor popped the solenoid on the first start, and hence why it is no longer working.

In any case I have ordered a Sealey PPX probe so I can safely inject 12 volts onto the solenoid pin and see if the solenoid engages and the starter cranks. This would at least prove beyond reasonable doubt it is the connection that is faulty.

Failing that, given that potentially this just fried 2 solenoids, are there any known cases of over current in the starter solenoid circuit?

Did you ever get this resolved? Ive the same problem. Car refuses to crank, battery charged, abs and traction control light on the dashboard. Getting the same scan errors as you did.
