    Hi I have a jan 2017 q7 4m 272.
It was serviced at one year old in Jan 2018 and had an oil change. Inspection light has come on and is due in 14 days time. Oil says doesn't need to be changed for 300 days/8k.

Seems like my oil is on longlife/2yr service and inspection is now out of sync. A bit annoying as I'd rather not take the car in every year if the oil is not due. I have had a few quotes ranging from £200-£320 for an inspection only which doesn't actually change any parts or fluids. Seems like a complete rip off to me.

One audi garage said I could in theory ignore the inspection and it will be done on the next oil change which would then sync the inspection back up with the oil change service. Thoughts?

The only thing with ignoring it is that does it invalidate any aspect of warranty as car will read in a years time when in sync with oil change that it’s like 365 days overdue or worse to that affect?

However you can reset the service indicator I believe through VCDS/OBDeleven? Or even a quick trip to an Audi indi?
