    Audi A3 2009 1.9 TDI

Hi my sons A3 developed a vibration at idle which could be felt through the clutch pedal so suspected a DMF / clutch issue. The clutch was replaced by the previous owner about 3 years and 30K ago. It was a complete Sachs kit from GSF for about £300.

I just taken the gearbox off and note:

There is about a 5mm layer of grease around the bell housing where the flywheel rotates.
The clutch release bearing is shot but don't think that much grease grease could have come from it - also the grease is not abeam the release bearing?
The clutch assembly seems ok but I will replace anyway.
The DMF is loose and the inside can be easily rotated to the stops by hand - I've never had any experience of DMF - is this normal?

    Some questions -
I presume I should replace the DMF and clutch. The Sachs kit is good value but the last DMF seems to have failed early yet the online reviews seem good, maybe I| just got a bad one?
Any ideas where all that grease came from - is there grease in the DMF?

    Any other thoughts?

Ok, spoke to a few clutch people, apparently the DMF contains grease and so if it overheats the grease can escape as it fails - this explains the grease around the bell housing?

I've cleaned it all up and I am looking to use a new sachs DMF + Clutch kit part no 022VG0070 from GSF
Any feed back on these all in one kits?
