I need to replace just the bushes on our B7 rather than the complete front anti roll bar and I'm struggling to find any details on it.

Has anyone done this? Is it straight forward to do or a nightmare?

Ive seen videos of it on the B6 which seems a doddle but the bushes on the B7 don't seem anywhere near as easy for access, especially as I don't have a ramp

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

You cannot buy the bushes from VW, I can’t check from home if people like Febi do them but Powerflex Great deals from Audi Seat Skoda VW Volkswagen Parts on Front anti roll bar | eBay Shops do, you need to know its diameter, 22, 23 or 23.6 mm. The nasty bit is they are evil to replace, you have to drop the subframe and release it from the steering rack. You MUST use alignment pins to preserve the consul locations and every single bolt and nut you touch MUST be replaced as they are one time only Torque To Yeild stretch bolts so this complicates things getting all the fasteners ready. Then with the roll bar out, you have to carefully drill out the peened over fold of the upper to lower clamp and when rebuilding it is advisable to tack weld the two back together as otherwise the assembly keeps dropping apart as you struggle to rebuild it which brings forth language that may offend those around you. On yer back with the car on stands, stuff that! Ohh and the ball joint studs tend to snap off which means new ball joints...
