The main problem was the headlights were always bad. I've had my car since 2004 and it was 2 years old when i got it. They were bad the day I bought it, but when you test drive a car, you rarely test drive it at night. HID's were an option back then, but somewhere in the region of £1000 - £1500 from memory as an optional extra. As you can imagine, very few B6's have HID's as standard.

The B7 is a slight improvement with the headlights. Not that you can retrofit B7 lights onto your B6. Whether you can use better quality bulbs? Maybe but with all the potholes, I pretty much end up changing mine every couple of years anyway. The drivers one seems to go more frequanly for some reason? Who knows.

My headlights are different then what they show and they have D2S HIDs. Pulled one apart and the reflector was burnt up top - no way to clean it.
