Don't just stop the water ingress, but look for, or get other consequences covered as well.

As a part of recovering from my two leaks, both on driver side where there hannens to be nothing but unjointed looms on body floor, I stripped out to bare metal and left a mains fed panel heater plus desk fan running for a week. Much faster 2nd time...

Illness slowed me down 2nd time, and mould had just started to find places to live. Loves the seat belts in channels - I pulled them all the way out to air after a scrub down with Milton.

Appreciate the advice mate, but it's not the drain. Further investigation needed when the rain actually stops. Need to remove the roof lining I think (thank god its an avant!) and then get wifey to hose it down whilst I watch from inside the car.

Thought I’d update this with my own experience (big thanks to @joshua-tracey1 for sending me the PDF!)

Initially I tried sealing the leak from above with little success so dropped the headlining and tackled it from below. The capillary action helped draw the Captain tolley into what I hope are the right areas. I may have gone slightly over board with the sealant but I applied it to the areas where it was being drawn into.

I’m hoping its worked. We had some rain over the weekend and there was no sign of water.....I also washed the car yesterday and again saw no signs of water ingress.

I really hope this has worked as I simply can’t (refuse!) to pay the extortionate cost to replace the roof from what appears to be a design fault........

Congratulations mate! Glad you've had some success with stopping the leak. I am planning to try and stop mine in the near future. The photos help, thanks for them.

How did you apply the captain tolleys from below?

Also, what else did you break.... Clips from the grab handles by chance? Utterly terrible design.
