Sadly for me the Captain Tolleys fix didn’t sort it.

Neither did a gallon of sealant from diy shop 🤪

Took to a really helpful and friendly local indi who advised the wind deflected was not folding in properly, and by catching was slightly opening the seal allowing water ingress. Doesn’t answer it going into the headlining though.

They couldn’t fix and despite a LOT of effort on their part (and only charging me £50 for over 4 hours of actual work not including the “hose time”) they sadly couldn’t help.

Drains all running cleanly so had to bite the bullet and go to the mothership!

Said needed a new cassette as the tensioning wires had “overstretched” and as an integral part of the cassette cannot be replaced on their own! £1800 less in my wallet and a few days in a nice S4 and I had my once again waterproof car back............ for 3 weeks and it only started again on the drivers side!!

Tidy Q5 loan vehicle this times whilst it’s back in for a warranty repair this time! I’m absolutely livid after shelling out hat much to Audi - and believe me they know about it!

Will post on here their remedy once known, but I’d for sure avoid the pan roof ever again after this experience.

Same for me - Captains thing worked for about 2 months - then massive leaks

also needed two rear electronic shocks at 800 a side plus the new sunroof cassette

result = sold it - but still miss it

in addition to the leaking sunroof (1800 quid) it needed two rear electronic dampers at 800 quid each

upshot was I sold it for a V60 which is a pile of sh*te and have regretted it ever since

I thought this too, but as someone stated above. Its tiny amounts each time layering it up. First couple of times for me it was just running on through and wouldnt set. The time it worked I used no more than 2ml from a syringe. From doing this mine has still not leaked. And I'm in ireland so not many dry days

Well, after several months of not leaking, sadly my drivers footwell is wet once more, can see evidence of the leak by the bonnet release catch... Gutted.

I've removed the wind deflector to see if that was affecting it, no change. So now it's time to try and seat everything with silicone sealant.

Next step will be removing the head lining, but I need better weather for that.

I take comfort in the fact its not just me suffering.... Sorry!

    Will report back later.

Trying to be encouraging, could that be the roof gutter drain tube separated rather than actual roof leak? On our non-panaromaic VW roof I've just had the trim off the pillar and found the tube disconnected from the rubber boot / gaiter that goes into scuttle area to drain behind wheel arch. I've previously had it disconnected at the other end as well - the spigot from roof gutter. Both lead to water running down area behind dash.

I really feel for anyone with wet in the footwells and would like to add a word of warning. There are electrical and electronic control boxes under the carpets. I had to write off a C6 as uneconomic to repair (admittedly 9 years old) due to corrosion of the wiring loom and faults in control boxes caused by water ingress in the footwells.

Don't just stop the water ingress, but look for, or get other consequences covered as well.

    John.
