Hello I have a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8L turbo it’s the wagon. I have an unknown issue I need help figuring out what’s causing it. I have multiple misfires and believe I have a dead cylinder. I theorize it’s related to vacuum because the A/C and heat doesn’t blow only out of the defroster vent. I also have a very hard time idling it sounds rough and rpms spike down and engine lights starts flashig. Of course I assumed it was spark plugs so I already have replaced all plugs and the coil packs. I really am quite confused as to what else can cause this if you have any ideas please direct message me. Thank you!

Try searching for PCV valve posts, sounds very familiar.

Try taking off your oil cap whilst car at idle, if you struggle its because of a vacuum caused by the crankcase breather valve.

Valve is very cheap replacing the pipes connected to it when they crumble are not !!

This is a fault i had a few years ago, the oil cap bit still stands, but it is the crankcase breather valve which i meant to say will be the culprit it does have a habit of causing PCV breakages and due to pressure in the manifold causing rocker cover oil leaks into spark plugs

That looks very similar to a valve I just replaced however the valve was taken off of another Audi and could very well have been bad too
