Looking for opinions from owners and enthusiasts k this one.

I have 15k to fund the purchase of a new to me car. I was set on a Passat dsg when I happened on a 16 plate a6 Avant SE ultra. 2.0 Tdi s tonic with fsh and 60k on clock. It really was night and day to drive. I loved it but I hated the alloys which are the tiny 17" spokes thay just don't look right on the car. Also I am only 36 and felt the alloys spoiled the look and took away from the aesthetic. Overall it's the best one I can find in my budget for that spec. There is another near by with 77k FSH which is a manual but 2k cheaper that I was toying with the idea of but I really fancy the s tronic.

To muddy the waters further there is an s line ultra version in s tronic with 76k for the same 15k price but it's a 14 plate. So higher miles and 2 years older for same money..... And also a 14 plate grey s line with s tronic and 75k am but not an ultra at 14k

So it's a trade off between age, miles, trim and spec. Is it worth going older and higher miles for the s line/s line ultra s tronic , ditch it for the cheaper manual SE ( which has nicer alloys) or do i swallow my pride and get what appears to be the best deal and get new alloys later?

It would appear that 15k for a 16plate ultra SE s tronic is the cheapest nationally that's for sale at the moment and a few k below market so a good deal, just wish it had nicer wheels and trim....

    What would you do?

Buy the car your first looked at, then use your current wheels as winter wheels and spend approx £1k on new wheels, loads come from Germany and are genuine. BTW a 2015 car will be the facelift and have cheaper tax, a 2014 car will be pre facelift.
My last A6 was the SE and it makes for a comfortable ride, the SE trim isn't bad and depending on options could turn out to be higher spec than the SLine
