    Hi All,

I have looked up the standard procedure for unlocking the rear Nav dvd drive in the boot, via VCDS. I have a genuine HEX-V2 cable (3 VIN "Home user" version) and the latest version of VCDS (18.9.0).

I have checked the Channel 67/68 settings and the value is: 0.

Despite this the unit will not eject or accept any discs.

The nav system shows a map on screen and works fine so I assume that there must be a disc present in the drive?? (Is this a false assumption?)

I have also tried the 'eject' function in VCDS to force eject the disc, but no success. Is there any way to tell if there is a disc in the unit?

Has anyone had anything similar as I'm a bit stuck now, and going to the dealer seems to be the only option?

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hugh

    **Edit**

If it makes any difference I believe I have MMI 2G High (Full Colour Nav screen)

If showing a map there is a disc in the drive. It might be worth unplugging the dvd drive for a while to reset it.

Just thought that I would post a follow-up to this.

So I had another go a few days back to try and sort this issue out, and I managed to get the force disc eject to work. This meant that I could load my new upgrade disc and perform the Nav upgrade - which worked successfully.

Interestingly trying to alter the eject button lock setting resulted in VCDS becoming "not responding" and crashing, when the value was changed from 1 to 0.

I didn't try uplugging the unit as Joe2.0E suggested as the force eject worked, but it makes me think what is wrong with the unit that it won't accept the altered coding for the eject button?

Anyway I'm not too bothered now as I've sorted my main issue, but thought I would leave this info here for anyone in the future.

Thanks for update, glad you got sorted.
Was the successful force eject from the button on the front of the drive or from VCDS ?

The force eject was via VCDS, as I could not alter the button lock state without it crashing VCDS - very strange.
