    Hello

I’m a new member so I hope this is in the correct place.

Recently have bought myself another MK5 Golf this being a 1.9tdi (2005). Previously have a 1.6 Fsi which was to be honest a headache with sensor problems.

I bought this car 2 weeks ago and only travel a short distance to work and havent done much but the car sounds mechanically sound and was a very honest sale however.

    • Abs/ESP light on
    • Brake warning light on
    • Engine light occasionally on

Previous owner had the abs pump replaced and all abs sensors which i have the old one to prove however wasn’t able to get to the bottom of the problem.

I have a vagcom lead (cheap off ebay but the software isn’t compatible with windows 7). Will try get error codes but just want to know if anyone has a solution have looked but haven’t seen anything.

Tempting to stick it into a vw specialist but was hoping there would be a solution i can sort myself as i’m an agricultural engineer.

    Thanks

Did you get the error codes? Cheap knock off leads off EBay are a disaster. They may appear to work but they never do properly.

I have same issue, had it on a fault reader and it's showing nearside rear wheel speed sensor. So I'd guess your issue could be related to one or more of the same. Looks easy enough fix, and the part is around £40
