    Hi guys,

I have the dreaded battery drain issue, actually I've had it for 2 years. My car is an A6 C6 S Line 2.0 TDI (57 plate). The battery was dying within 4 days of car being left so....

    - Changed the original (2008) battery last year to a Bosch S5 110amp, no change.
    - Updated the MMI to 5570, no change.

This didn't solve anything last year, and I regularly boosted the car in a morning to get going. Last few months the car needs boosting every morning so.....

    - Checked voltages on battery and alternator with meter, readings seemed on the low side so replaced the new battery under warranty so it's got another new battery.
    - Also checked alternator again by starting car, disconnecting battery, and switching everything electrical on, car did not die with no battery attached so is working.
    - Checked hazard light after locking car. All lights are out within 1 minute, with hazard light last to go after 50 seconds. Systems seem to be shutting down within good time frame.
    - Took negative off battery and used multimeter inline to check for drain. It fluctuated from 1.5 to 7!!

I need to start pulling the fuses to see where the drain is but I can't figure out how to put the car to sleep. The battery is in the boot so the boot lid is open when checking the battery which means the boot light is on. I think I figured this by using a screwdriver to 'lock' the boot catch whilst its open. Now my alarm goes off when the battery is disconnected.

How do I put an Audi to sleep without prescribed drugs

Most posts I find tend to be more than a couple of years old so is there any other information I may need to know?

    Thank you kindly!

I’ve had the same problem with my A6 for a year. Had a new battery, no difference. However I may have just sorted it. There was a software update available for the battery management module. Has been ok for the past couple of weeks since I had that done.
