    Hi Guys,

Just trying to gauge prices etc and if anyone knows anyone decent for the conversion etc.

Basically it's been a project on going for a fair few years. I have a donor car so everything is available. the engine has new internals ready to be rebuilt etc.

However the cars are in storage and for the past few years i don't have the time to commit to rebuilding.

££££'s have been spent in storage fees so I'm thinking it might be cost effective to pay someone to rebuild it for me.

Do any of you guys know anyone up to it?

Also it's a 93 plate GTi so it will be moving from OBD1 to 2

    TIA all

    Dan

The problem is cost and value, no matter how hard you try it will never be a VR6, just a converted old GTI and asI have said for decades “never build a car you can buy”....

I get that. but I want to keep the GTi as it is sentimental value. been in the family since 93. the GTi engine blew and couldn't find a replacement. so had the VR as my daily and then when that failed mot I decided it would be the donor

I know each person has their own opinions on conversions etc. mine weren't for the fact of wanting a vr6 it kinda just happened that way

It is many hundreds of hours work and there will be a lot of parts you have not accounted for, just the list of new genuine fasteners required could run into hundreds of pounds as many are one time only or will be extremely corroded. I am just building a Golf 2 VR6 turbo conversion which is similarly involved but admittedly to a very high standard of finish and it is LONG winded.
