I received eBay components on Saturday, a tiny relay, 3 x microswitches and two little levers, to sort out the steering lock actuator fault.
So I thought Sunday was a good time to try fitting them.
It was fiddly getting the old components off the PCB, as they seemed to be stuck down with lacquer, but with a lot of swearing I installed the new bits.
When back in the car, I can hear the steering lock actuating, so was very hopeful that I’d sorted it.
Unfortunately, I get nothing when trying to start the car. All dashboard lights come on, steering lock disengages, but it won’t turn over.
Is the immobiliser contained on the same PCB? Have I buggered it in my incompetence?
Any ideas would be gratefully received!

Have you cleared any fault codes as the steering column has been removed.

If so then you could have damaged a component or track on the PCB when you scrapped off the conformal coating.
