    As in a title.
Pretty inconvenient, coming home late in the evening, turning ignition off and interior lights wont turn on, have to collect things in the dark or turn lights "manually".
Lights turn on when I open the door, that is pretty useless, I am leaving the car already.
Did check the settings but nothing about lights, only level of the trim lights/footlights.

Am I missing something, can this be done via VCDS?

This may assist, from FL model hand book. Light switch to Auto, MMI, car, systems, vehicle settings, exterior lights, when getting out to on, when unlocking on Hope that makes sense and helps, mine stay on for around 30 seconds when I get out.

Hmm that should work. I assume your light switch next to steering wheel is in auto? I think it needs to be there.

Also, check the button overhead.. Although I'm sure you already have, is lit up. The one with the door open symbol on the car..

I'm curious now. I'll check mine later. Not aware of any coding.. This should just be 'normal'

    Cheers

I gave that info as that is what mine dose for external and internal lights. When I lock or unlock (dependent on the outside light level) the external and internal lights come on for around 20-30 seconds.

So if you press the ignition off button, then nothing happens even if you are parking in dark.

In this case, please check the coming home/leaving home feature. If these are not working, while these are turned on in the MMI, than probably you have some problem with the light sensor.

    For example.
    In the dark
I unlock the car - exterior (front back, puddle lights) and interior lights come on.
I get in, turn the car on, interior lights are off. Everything is normal.
I come back home, press Turn off engine button, engine shuts off, MMI still on, Radio playing, no lights inside.
But lights are outside. I open the door, interior lights are light up. Close the door, lock - interior lights are off, exterior lights stay on for a bit.

Leaving and coming to car settings are On. No settings for interior, just background lighting or whatever it is called.

Button overhead with the car symbol is pressed in and lit up, if I turn it off the, light dont come on even when I open the door.

And, yes Lights are on Auto.

Stoping in the dark. Switch engine off external are DRLs no internal, as soon as I open the door, internal and headlights on for around 20-30 seconds then switch off. When they go off if I still need them I just press unlock on the remote and it starts again, 20-30 seconds each press of unlock.

I think, it's an abnormal behaviour, and never heard of it. I'm not sure if you can sort it out with a VCDS, but probably a scan from the interior light area could be useful for a comparisation.

MY12, stopping engine does not light interior until opening door. As I have used to it from the beginning have not thought it as a failure. I think there is no way to change it as being standard feature. Well, also the notchy steering was a standard feature accordino Audi ...
