Had a long drive today. Noticed the oil temp moves around a bit - at 70mph (around there anyway) up the long hill over Ship it got up to just under 120' - then a bit slower on the flat down to 100'. Is that normal?

Never noticed before - to be honest never really looked at it.

Water temp was absolutely steady all the time

    Thoughts? Is this as expected?

    Thanks

    Jon

I’ve noticed that range on oil temp, seems to be associated with engine workload, didn’t think much of it to be honest.

Variations in oil temperatures such as this are quite normal on all piston engines, normally aspirated and supercharged/turbocharged, petrol and diesel.

Any fluid temperature is load dependant. Absolutely normal.
