I've just bought a 2016 SE Business Estate 150 and I'm very happy with it so far.
    I have a question though...

There are cutouts on either side of the boot. They are near the tailgate and low down and on both sides either just above or just below the floor (depending on whether it's in the high or low position!) One of them is covered by the side stowage area trim.
They are very specifically shaped and appear to be for something. I'm at a loss as to what might fit in them.
Initially I thought they might be for stowing the parcel shelf, but as it doesn't fit I've disregarded that idea!

    Any ideas??

    TIA.

I’m not aware they are for anything specific - I tend to keep my rugby boots in one side and anything I don’t want to roll around in the other - as ours is a GT we have a full size spare so the boot floor doesn’t go into the ‘low’ position

    Perhaps I’m being too vague!
Beneath the areas behind the wheel arches - which are ideal for carrying rugby boots (or in my case GPS receivers) are two very carefully shaped cutouts. They look like something is meant to go between them right across the car.
There’s even a ribbed rubber edge to carefully support whatever-it-is.
    Baffled!

These are what I’m talking about...

    Offside

Nearside (with the trim in place)

    Nearside (trim removed)

    Any ideas??

I think that is for stowing the retractable load cover if you are carrying a large load with the rear seats down.

    Hi Jimgironde!

That's what I thought to begin with, but I tried the retractable parcel shelf in the space and it doesn't actually fit!

Try spinning it around until it does, as I can confirm that’s what they’re for (as I use them as such).
