Caddy 1.9tdi Coil Light

Hi folks.

I'm after a bit of a leg up with a van I just bought. It's an 04 1.9tdi Caddy. Its owner passed away in May this year and its sat jntil earlier this month. The owners mate sold it for his wife and did a few bits to it before selling.

One of them was replacing the brake light switch. He said after he replaced it, the coil light came on and flashed. It comes on after about 2 minutes of starting the van and only goes off when it's switched off.

Is there a way of turning the light off? Also, does it sound about right that this would cause the light to come on?

I know getting the codes read would be the obly way to really know what's causing it. The van runs lovely with no issues, etc.

It could be that he fitted the switch the wrong way, you know the way to get it sorted so do that first.
