My 2.0l TDi Tiguan has halogen headlamps which are quite bright but seem to have an alignment problem. There seems to be no way of adjusting the main beam separately from the dipped beam. Both dipped beams seem well aligned. What I am finding is that on the offside (RH from the driver' seat) the main beam aiming is directly above the dipped beam and points at the horizon, which seems to me to be normal. But on the near side (LH) the main beam is barely pointing above the dipped beam and is aimed significantly to the right. This is not what I regard as at all normal.

Is there a hidden adjustment I need to access, or is the headlamp unit defective? I have changed main beam bulb with no change. The vehicle is still under a main dealer warranty so should be fixable for free if it is a defect.

Any help much appreciated.
