5 years or 111 k miles for 2009 model or 130k miles for 2010 model up, if OEM parts used.
Dont forget Water pump as some don't change it and it starts to leak.

    HI all,

to dig up an old thread....I'm looking at buying a 1.6tdi bluemotion mk6 golf (2012). It has FSH and looks in very good condition. before making my final offer though I wanted to know if the timing belt will need changing as it's coming up to 130k? From this thread it suggests that it is coming up for replacement?
Any ideas on rough cost to have this done so I can use this to bargain with?

    Thanks

I got mine changed for a 1.6 TDi after 6 years on 24k miles. paid £450 for a full timing belt kit change including water pump, tensionsers , alternator belt and oil and filter change. That was at an independent VW specialist about a couple years back if that gives you an idea re costs.
