You don't need much to retrofit SatNav into your car, it's plug and play apart from activating it which may need a user or yourself with VCDS.

    Navigation Drive:
    Firstly you'll need the actual Navigation Drive itself. You can choose between (4E0919887X - X Being (C, D, M, Q, P...) Quoted Gupsterg 2013
I've provided a link to a navigation drive below which is relatively cheap, but you're welcome to find a cheaper one of your liking.

    MOST and Power Wiring:
Secondly, you'll need the actual wiring itself. As said previously it's plug and play and you're splitting the power and the MOST connection from the tuner, to power and allow data for both.
Simply remove the cage for better access then remove the MOST and power connections from the back of the tuner. Use the splitter to split the power and the MOST connection.
The picture below shows the back of the tuner and power to split is highlighted with the red line, with the MOST connection to the left

    Picture provided by Gupsterg 2013

I've also provided a video below on how to remove the cage which contains the tuner box.

I've also provided a link to a set of plug and play cables, they're linked below:
    AUDI MMI2G ADAPTOR A4 A5 A6 A8 Q5 Q7 FIBRE OPTIC PLUG & PLAY WIRING HARNESS MOST (eBay.co.uk)

    GPS Antenna:
Lastly, you'll also need a GPS antenna to plug into the blue antenna connection slot. I've provided a link below to an antenna but you're welcome to find your own, just make sure it's 'FARKA'.
A cheap antenna might not provide the best signal compared to an outdoors one, but it's a solution for now.

*Note: You'll also need a Map DVD to insert into the DVD drive. I'm not sure if the latest maps (2018) will work without a system update to the car. Hopefully another user can clear this up.

Hope this helps and if there's anything I've missed that anyone wants to expand on, comment below!

Seems like the prices of parts are dropping a bit so I might look again at doing this myself.
A few more questions though... Mine is 3G so does that need a different wiring harness (that linked one says 2G)
Also, all I have in the side panel (estate) is the radio unit. The trim panel is recessed in because of this so assume I'd need a different trim panel..?
Next I'm wondering about the aerial. I have the shark fin on the roof. Can that handle satnav as well as radio?
Finally, how do you control it? Do you also need the joystick type knob on the MMI panel of the centre console?

Unfortunately @PCB I don't have much knowledge on the topic when it comes to implementing Sat Nav for a MMI 3G system.
@B5NUT would definitely be able to assist you further regarding parts and help!
