    Hi
Needed some help as im new to vw’s.
basically was passing through sh*try old bradford. Stopped for food and came out with a broken window and my media unit stolen. My cars a mk6 golf and the unit had sat nav bluetooth etc.
I need to replace it but not sure what unit it was in the first place. I wanted to go for a bluetooth unit that doesnt have sat nav but can still have the SD car option and bluetooth.
Any ideas on where to start? Id post pictures but dont know how to. Which model unit should i go for and will it be plug and play
    Thanks
    Adam

    That’s looks like rns 510.

you could buy one and a Bluetooth module of eBay or buy a rns315 which has Bluetooth built in but has a smaller screen.

Ive been looking at the v6 specific Kenwood dnx525, but I’ve been put off by bad reviews

If you buy the same head unit yes. Loads on eBay.

So this is whts left in the car. The bluetooth module but no wiring. And theres a picture of the current clip too. Not going for a touch screen as i cant be bothered with anyone trying to steal this aswel!

I’d be amazed if it happened again. I’m surprised it happened in the first place. They’re not expensive.

A local scrote must have needed that specific model for his 1.4 gti replica.

Easy and cheap to just replace it with the same.

If you can afford it, or are going through the insurance and your car had a factory fitted nav unit the TPS supplied VAG approved Kenwood head unit is a direct fit and is excellent at around £1k.

I looked at this myself but it has awful reviews. Check amazon.

Slower than factory units, £50 a year nav updates and a host of other problems. Doesn’t even work with factory reversing cameras.
