Hi I've been having a misfire issue with my a4 b5 1.8t ajl engine code had ruled out plugs as they are relatively new however I decided to change them and it solved the issue upon inspecting them it looks like they've been arcing out ?
    What would be causing this?
    specs are as follows
    1.8t ajl engine
    K04 015 turbocharger running 1.5 bar
Saab red top 360cc injectors at 4 bar
Tfsi coil pack upgrade with icm delete
3inch decat into milltek non res 2.75 inch system
    Large front mount intercooler
Vr6 Maf with large intake pipe
    Plugs are bkr7e

If you are referring the signs of tracking down the insulator, this could be due to the plug electrode gaps being too large, or damaged/cracked/faulty ceramic insulators.

It looks like its been running too hot with burnt eroded insulator, I'm not a plug expert or tuning fanatic but the bkr7e looks like a pretty standard plug for your modded engine ?maybe you need to look at a colder plug or higher spec ?

Did you gap the plugs before you installed them?
Common practice to check the gaps even on new plugs.

Dangerously lean, you are one step cooler there, maybe time to move another step cooler but add some fuel. I find on cars like this that an in dash AFR meter such as an AEM UEGO is extremely helpfull.
