A block of four LEDs in one of the rear lights has stopped working. Is this repairable or will it ultimately mean a new unit?

The whole rear light unit is meant to be replaced, but they arn't cheap.

I had the same thing happen on my BMW bike rear light unit.

Half of the stop light LED's failed.

I was able to carefully prise the two halves of the plastc unit apart.

I then wired in 12v individule High Brightness Red LED's in place of the failed originals & wired them back to the input conexions near the plug.

So it all depends if you are handy at taking things apart & with a soldering iron.

Once repaired you just glue it back together again.

Mine is still going strong 4 years later.

Thanks for that Philip. Why am I not surprised that they aren't cheap!

I'm quite happy taking things apart, especially if it saves me money, so I'll be following your example - nothing to lose.
