Hi, we have a recently acquired 2009 (new shape) 1.4 petrol Ibiza. The air bag light came on yesterday. Tried to read the code today but no code there and the scanner can't access the SRS (it does access everything else). Checked the fuse and it is OK BUT there is no voltage supply on the supply side of the fuse. Which would explain why the scanner can not "see" the SRS system.
Has anyone got any ideas please? Thanks.

The scanner you are using is not suitable, it needs a proper VAG specific system such as VCDS.

Nimble technicians, surely you should hang your heads in shame. Your wit works mighty wonders, has landed men on the Moon, replaced brains by computers, and can smithy a "smart" bomb. It is a crying scandal that you cannot take the time or be bothered to build us, what sanity knows we need, an odorless and noiseless staid little electric brougham.

Thanks. Just to confirm back - the car went on a VCDS scanner and it was a simple reset that was needed - so the type of scanner is indeed crucial.
Turns out that the air bag light was triggered when the passenger air bag was inadvertantly disconnected and reconnected when some other work was being done.

That is why the book of words tells you to disconnect the battery when working on the air bag system, or at least don't turn on the ignition
