    Hello guys,

    its a 2008 2.0L diesel GT - BKD engine
    Mileage is 147K

So basically I was driving along at around 60MPH - felt shuddering for 3 seconds... felt fine for another 3 seconds then followed by more shuddering and the engine cut out. felt like I had run out of diesel but had 1/4 left in the tank.

Got towed home by the AA - whipped off the timing belt cover and the belt looks fine.

It cranks but doesn't start. I cant hear the fuel pump prime, I checked the voltage at the fuel pump when ignition is on accessory and it shows 0 volts. I have checked the voltage at the fuel pump fuse and that is 0 volts.

I swapped out the 449 fuel pump relay for the 449 Horn relay and re checked the voltage - same problem.

I checked the voltage going into the relay connectors and it was showing around 9v with the ignition on accessory.

I double checked by pulling the fuel inlet hose off of the fuel filter and cranking the engine - no flow
I remember a distinct lack of diesel in the fuel filter housing.

I have had a diagnostic scan and the only fault it came up with was - 06481 Radiator Fan 2 (V177) : Movement restricted/Jammed P1951 - intermittent

I have no engine management light coming on.

    #Nightmare

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Lift the back seat up and change the lift pump have you had a little bang on the back end recently. I reversed into a wall only lightly no damage but a few days later the same thing happened. A new lift pump sorted it. And make sure you attach the pipes the right way around if you fit one
