    Changed the battery to a Duracell tonight - funnily I have never had the issue - it's always been the wife - maybe she has key in bag beside phone.

    Just seen a post on another forum saying that the car will still start if the battery is in upside down, but you get the key not recognised message. Maybe the issue?

    No, our battery is in the correct way up. It's never happened with me, but several times with the missus - if anything maybe her mobile. I never have keys in the same pocket as car keys.
