    Hi folks

Today i went to VW to perform a throttle body adaptation, and they said it could not adapt they had a look at the ecu and had white letters saying polo 1,4 98... it means its from a scrapers so they didnt know if its the right one for this model, i removed the plastic to access the ecu and i confirmed the above with this reference (030 906 030D)
My questition is can anyone confirm if this is the right ecu that i have or wrong.?

    Chassis:WVWZZZ6NZVY143524

    Thanks

I can’t check properly until Monday but 030 906 030 D does not come up, the E does.

I also must add ,that the men that i talked to was not the same person that worked on my car but the guy responsible for them, he told me about the ecu and that... And i asked him about trouble codes he said it had none ,and i also asked what program they used and what measuring blocks they entered... which he said was irrelevant (lol) and that there machine enters to adaptacions and that automatacly no goups needed.... if he even know what he was talking about... i asked about vcds he didnt know to answer me... i asked to a woman at the reception and the guy at the parts balcony and they said they used etka... not sure if ETKA is just a parts referencce files or if they also have diagnostic tool.?? But aparently they dont have VCDS, and for what i read online only vcds/vag.com does the trick on vw´s and also heard about VPECKER also works.??

Honestly the car actually feels a bit worst, (Misses/cuts the revs) more and in more rev bands than before ,i even tried disconnect the battery to see if it would go back to how it was, to no effect...

    Cheers

remind me tomorrow to look this up. ETKA is purely a parts system for VAG dealers, independents use Partslink 24 as one example but obviously you can use dodgy copies of ETKA. The workshop information system is ELSAWIN with Erwin for the aftermarket and the VAG diagnostic system is ODIS which any registered workshop can use, quite a few independents (myself included) now have access to ODIS and you can even subscribe to the security side GEKO like I did but there are a lot of hoops to jump through for obvious reasons.

And with that ODIS for example you dont need to enter the blocks number?
Before i went to the vw dealer i didnt found any shop around with vcds ,that would be the best to use?

I also forgot to say a few days ago i replaced the headers and link gaskets and noticed that the middle resonator the one after the CAT is missing theres a straight tube instead ,dont think this would cause any real problems.??

If it was a VW dealer they would have used ODIS under Guided Fault Finding and this does a lot of jobs for you automatically although I have never used it on a car that old as it is not necessary to spend 10Euro an hour on those, VCDS is perfect on the AFH apart from immobilser coding. Buying your own genuine VCDS dongle would be of great help to you VCDS VAG-COM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM - SISTEMA DE DIAGNÓSTICOPARA VOLKSWAGEN, AUDI, SEAT E SKODA
