Can anybody help me identify these 2 components that I have in my Q7 - I think they are linked to the DVB-t box in the boot but I have no instructions and the previous owner wasn't even aware of them.

This one is in the side pillar - is it a remote control receiver ??

The second one is in the centre console and is a switch when if pressed turns the mmi screen off

I haven't traced all the wires yet - but I was just wondering if anyone had similar or recognised what they might be

The DVB-t box in the boot is made by Senergy and the screens in the headrests are X-tron

Grateful for any help or suggestions

When you say turn the MMI off do you mean put the screen away or just put a black screen. I wonder if it is actually the button to change the input on the MMI so that it the provides whatever the output of the DVB-t box would be.

The 1st one does like a infra red remote receiver and with the right remote you would expect it to switch on the box and it to work.

Question is where is the remote or what you need to do to a replacement ....

    Thanks for the reply

What do you mean when you say put the screen away ? I have also noticed that there is a clicking from behind the glove box when you push the Nav button and the Nav button doesn't always respond the first time.

I have a remote that does the headrests so I may try that on the one in the front and see if I can get something happening.

If not do you think one of the universal remotes may be worth a shot ?

Sorry thinking a6 when the screen slides away. Wasn't sure if you meant that or just go blank/black.

Can the rear screens get the dvb?

Problem with universal remotes unless you know the code for the specific equipment or it is listed it won't work

    It just goes black

There are leads to the rear screens and I think they may link to the DVB box, as there was also a PlayStation in it a some time in its life and this is wired into the DVB box.

I was wondering if you can't change the source via the MMI to the TV Input as you would do with factory fit, then the black button might change it to the DVB input.
