    Hi , im trying to adjust the mileage on a passat cc 2.0 tdi DSG 170. (this is not for any criminal activity) can this be done if so how? look forward to your responses, thank you in advance

    answering my own question, posting for others. It cannot be done using vagcom you require a specialist tool

    It can be done by vagcom but only up to the first few hundred miles from 0 or so as far as I remember.

    can you explain in more detail. also where this option is on the vcds menu

    "Applications" off the main menu then click on "Mileage" off the next menu just off the top of my head. Only really any use if you have a brand spanking new car and even then Im not sure why you would need it. Maybe to remove delivery mileage?

    As you say this is really for dealers to reset a new car to zero, a new car will have a small mileage, moving round the factory, road test, dock, transport company, dealer inspection etc and some people may not like a new car with 20-30 miles in the clock... think it is up to about 50 miles

    Even the main dealer tool ODIS can only alter the odometer reading up to 100km (62 miles) after that it is locked until equipment of more nefarious use is employed
