My wife folded the mirrors up on her Q7 while parked at work the other day, and when she came back to go home, the passenger side folded back out as normal but the driver's side has stuck in position. I cannot hear the motor making any noise. The normal mirror adjustment is still working fine, so this is just related to the folding of the mirror. The problem being that when I manually move the mirror into position it is obviously disengaging from the folding motor drive and is not very secure in position.

I ran a VAGCOM scan and am getting:-

02117 - Motor for Mirror Folding
006 Short to Plus and 007 Short to Ground

Sounds like the folding mirror motor has failed. The car is a 2012 Q7 S-line Plus TDi, its only done 66k miles. I cannot even find a part number for the folding motor, and it looks like it comes complete with the mirror assembly. Can anybody confirm if this can be repaired without having to replace the whole thing as no doubt that will be extortionate. Even if I could get the mirror properly locked into the normal position, I can live with not having a folding mirror.
